What's included with the $1,490 diesel heater install?
The package covers supply and professional installation of a Born To Roam 2kW diesel heater at our Port Stephens workshop, inclusive of GST. It includes the heater unit, 5L stainless steel fuel tank, LCD panel with remote and app control, wiring harness, fuel line, air and fuel filters, exhaust kit, mounting plate and all clamps and fittings required to complete the fit-out.
How long does the installation take?
Most diesel heater installations are completed in one workshop day. We'll agree a booking date up front, install the unit, tank, wiring and exhaust, then commission and test the heater before you collect the van.
Is the heater safe to run overnight?
Yes. Quality diesel heaters have RCM and EMC certification, sensors on the control board and fan, high and low voltage and current protection, and a fully sealed exhaust vented outside the caravan. In smart mode they hold a set temperature and only re-fire when the cabin drops around 2 degrees below setpoint.
Are diesel heaters better than gas?
Both are safe when professionally installed and serviced. Diesel heaters use less fuel over long stays, run quieter and don't need gas bottle refills, which is why most touring caravans move to diesel. Gas is still great for short trips and instant heat.
